Here is what they meant, and it is really subtle.

The difference is subtle but important.

1980s-90s: Navajo white for apartments. 80s was a lot of stark white houses...and peach and other pastels.

Maybe a subtle message like a human silhouette used at the gun range peppered with a half dozen head shots hanging in the window facing his house might get him thinking about your capabilities?

I would read the following:1) Any of the books that Dave Reynolds and myself have written (OK, that was obvious).2) Sam Zell's book "Am I Being Too Subtle" not for the MH component (only about 4 pages although he's the largest owner of mobile home parks in the U.S.) but because it has excellent discussions on the concept of risk vs. reward which applies well to mobile home parks.3) "The Man Who Bought the Waldorf" which is one of the greatest real estate books of all time and tells the story of Conrad Hilton and how he built a fortune, lost everything in the Depression, and then bought it all back for a penny on the dollar later when everyone else would have just jumped off a bridge.

Again , I agree with your Mom, but I think a subtle down vote same as up vote won't be a dark negative. 

Texas markets do have their up and downs but the drops tend to be more subtle and not as significant.

The subtle appeal of other higher-end finishes won't always come through.

Usually, I'm pretty subtle, and when I have to be more specific, I go out into the hallway with my cell phone.
