I find this to be incredibly helpful in assessing which properties to do further research on because I focus on a few neighborhoods and I don't recognize all the street names on sight.

In any case, I find the strategy short-sighted.

Lost days of work, had to cancel concrete trucks, etc...But I get the concept and agree in principle....but only for really important and potentially dangerous stuff...you wouldn't believe what I've seen out there.....

Calculate enough you can apply soome toward the principle also. 

I bought 2 Indy Class C SFHs sight unseen (video tours and full inspection including a sewer line scope) in 2023.

No more throwing good money after bad with no end in sight.

If you are in all cash I think it would be crazily short sighted unless you own a condemned slum. $3600 is not terribly high, frankly. 

Usually a couple of iron pipes driven into the ground....then you could sight down the line and get a decent idea.I think eventually you will need to get an official licensed survey to clear this up.
