Companies like Amazon have invested quite a bit of money into warehouse space in and around Des Moines for server farms. 

As far as Flipping in Calwa, it's never going to be a great area but I've heard the tenants are pretty low maintenance overall as most of them are farm workers who don't want any trouble.  

I own six on our farm in North Carolina.

Cats are the worst pets to have short of large farm animals.

It saves you a lot of money and you learn the system until you get big enough to farm it out.

I am sure that I am not the first to have this idea so I am just wondering if people have been successful with this in the past or if it is not recommended.

You didn't need to be a visionary to look at the primitive steamboats on the Hudson and see sailing ships days were numbered or see how the early farm mechanization would change agriculture.
