Michael P, "Ragged Dick" was the first of a series of books written in the 19th century in the USA by a man named Horatio Alger. 

It is a larger home, a century home, and still has some knob & tube so I realize there’s going to be some higher costs but is this reasonable?

2 weeks into owning the property, the area was hit with the worst storm in a century.

Turns out it had been converted to an 11 unit building and the building next door ( a 19th century hotel converted to 10 units) was for sale aswell.

In the short run this will cost low skill workers their jobs, but with support an retraining we can begin to see a household average income closer to what in needs to be in the 21st century. 3) The trades have been dying off.
