Hello, great question as I am considering them too, not specifically looking into using any form of retirement accounts for initial investment though. 

I like to think I have done ok. for me finding properties is sales - managing real estate and growing your company requires problem solving.

Sorry, I guess it's a little difficult for me to describe since I'm not a financial expert familiar with the terminology.

As you might already know, house prices in New York are extremely high, which makes it financially difficult for me to try house hacking here at the moment.

That said, TurboTenant and Baselane have worked together seamlessly for me.
