I assume that one of those people on your team will tell you it is a trap.

If you can avoid the traps of more=better and falling into the mindset of having to continually grow; then the passive income from a small portfolio will allow you to live work free, which I think most would say is a factor in their happiness.For us, our real estate portfolio (even before it cash flowed) provided us with the confidence that we had some plan for the future.

I've ALWAYS preached that it's free money... this is true, free money, however, why would you want to trap money into a government controlled account that your will pay taxes on when your 59 1/2?

I bought a nice apt building because the owner was so fed up paying electricians to go flip breakers and plumbers to hand-tightening sink drain traps.

I will ensure my children do not fall into the same traps I made and hopefully help others along the way.Great thread! 

@Gaby Liu- thanks for the warning and  sorry for the  experience ....you might consider  providing  a list of  red flags  that  may have   existed  to  let  others   be aware  of possible  traps  to  avoid

Stuff like "postmates" and uber and all that is just a trap.
