In my county, a sheriff sale is held, and the sheriff publishes the attorney for each case; the attorney gets contacted ahead of the sale to find out the opening bid.

However, no matter how it comes, I would suggest you still call the known/published number (not a number in the email) for your escrow officer and have him/her verify/read-back their actual account number where any funds should be sent.You do not want to wire funds to the wrong account number or they could be gone forever.

If their goal is to generate revenue by sharing their knowledge and systems, they wouldn't even bother wasting the upfront capital needed to print/publish/ and package all the books, tapes, and videos that come part of the deal, then even more money on infomercials, advertising, and those long/drawn out websites that never seem to get to the point.

In my area, this doesn't happen because the "standard" form prorates (on closing date) based on past taxes (last know or published) and there is no ambiguity.
