While a free and clear home adds some security, it does not take away Property Taxes, Insurance, Utilities, Groceries, Gas Money, Entertainment, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, and so many more things.If a retiree incurs a $500 a month mortgage and gains $1,000 a month income, that is a huge help.
