Sorry to dig up old thread.I don't think the user got his question answered (which is also my question).At this juncture, I've decided not to form an LLC for a rental property (the merits don't need to be discussed here) and simply move forward with a sufficient umbrella.

If you don't opt out you are now stuck with a total unknown company who is sure to raise your premium come renewal and you have no out, you can't walk out of it.Finally, I don't have an umbrella policy, and I think it's time I get one. 

You still need to get an umbrella insurance policy in case you get sued.
