The installer is in PA and violated local code, the national gas code, and manufactures requirements with this install and did so in a completely unsafe manner.So now I have two options. install a new heating system or build a chimney. both range from 3500-5k,  but the initial reason for this post is does anyone think I have a leg to stand on with fannie mae and try to have them rectify this?

Under federal code, you have 15 years to sell it before you have to pay capital gains taxes (military gets 15 years instead of the standard 5) as long as you lived in it for two years (which you have) and then moved away due to receiving orders.

Maybe he can chime in on what it cost, but depending on when the house was built, you may also have to bring the crawlspace up to code to do any work under the house, which can get expensive.

I reviewed Wisc tennant landlord law and section 704 of the code and nowhere did I see a limit on length of lease when it comes to going beyond month to month.
