Old wiring can mostly be found in crawl spaces or in the pane.

The do excellent work and the glass panes disappear.

One bath is in the finished basement (mostly finished, not laundry area), oversize 1 car garage, separate tool shed, privacy fenced back yard, central a/c with gas forced air heat, newer roof, vinyl siding, new-ish double pane windows.  

But, the strains of affordability and what to do about it could get ugly (e.g. ban strata rentals vs. force them open; go after illegal suites or turn a blind eye;  ban AirBnB or tax, etc.).

Good insulation, no single pane windows.Make sure the whole unit is CLEAN and smells good.For all turns, make sure the exterior entry is spotless.

Rock wool insulation I have put this in problematic single pane basement windows I am not ready to replace.

-The electrical panel is a disaster, we will replace immediately.

If the wiring has not been updated, some newer appliances may give you fits such as the microwave oven(check to see if the electrical panel is newer [circuit breakers instead of screw-in fuses]). 

Things to look for include location, neighboring properties, condition of the roof, condition of the gutters (full gutters sometimes lead to water intrusion), cars in the driveway during normal work hours, expired registration on vehicles, double-pane windows, condition of the siding and paint, type of foundation, pool (if you can see it).
