My first thought after reading your post is to break through the limiting belief that you're from a small town and that can be a barrier to you.

Beyond that, this has always been a user driven content site.Since it is a public forum, there will always be varying opinions and beliefs. 

I agree with your number one and I am taking responsibility by having a coach and mentor to help me understand the mindsets and be beliefs that led to my spending habits.
