@J Scott Agreed, but another factor to consider is that those same contractors who can afford to extend credit have also resolved a lot of the other issues (involving both personal and business processes) that might cause delays unnecessarily.

Automatic/electronic deposits are pretty convenient, but at least in my state of CA, they can be risky due to our eviction laws - so I'd say defer to someone who is familiar with your state's tenancy laws to make sure that you're not exposing yourself to risk unnecessarily however you choose to handle it.

You/they SHOULD turn off breakers to stove, water heater, and possibly AC, and make sure there is nothing else operating that will waste power unnecessarily.
