When I was going to college my father was buying and selling rea estate (mostly commercial) I was interest in being like him but at the time, when l got a business degree that emphasized real estate, I thought I could be like him but I was more interested in the construction business and stayed in it until I had a brain annuerism and stroke at age 54.

This is more conservative than prevailing thought here on BP, which emphasizes short term cashflow gains, maxed leverage, and views equity as a bad thing.If you're determined to pay that house off rapidly, refinancing into a 30 year at a higher rate, and then making a bunch of extra payments, would be folly.
