Even if you purchased a smaller tank the most you should need is a few bags of sand to fill in any void space.The only pump and tank you should use should be a 2 horsepower pump made by Zoeller.You definitely need to get several estimates and it is unfortunate that you are not in the area.What city is this system in? 

If your yard is mud you may be able to send a soil sample for testing, probably several points around the yard, and they will tell you do you need to add sand, or loam, or manure, or ground up sea shells, et cetera to your dirt to make it Drain better.

If you want more coastal stuff I like Torrance - Redondo Beach adjacent.  

MFH supply is somewhat limited in the northern coastal region (Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, etc), but it's certainly still a viable strategy. 

If you like sun and sand I would say Florida Gulf Coast :)
