VRBO cheaper for me

It's cheaper. 

I've seen a lot of replies mentioning investing in cheaper areas, particularly the midwest.

She quoted me $3000 for my new building and said the company has a total monopoly in our market but is still cheaper than everyone else.

If you can take out lines of credit on other properties you own, I prefer that to going the hard money/private lender route, because it tends to be significantly cheaper.

If you make an offer on a property that's in a price point of a house that would also attract an investor looking to build their portfolio where rents are in an affordable price point, you will get out bidded more often than everyone else because you need a cheaper house.

House hacking means getting a normal loan with 5% down, making sure you'll earn enough after costs, and looking for areas where it’s cheaper to start and renters are many.

So you can buy cheaper AND force equity - you can add the finishes, upgrades to lighting/AC etc.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a different part of Texas that has a good ratio of cheaper Housing and Higher payment standards for the section 8 program. 

Do some research to learn how a good property manager behaves, then spend a LOT of time researching and interviewing until you find a quality manager.Remember: cheaper doesn't mean you'll make more money.Start by going to www.narpm.org to search their directory of managers.
