We noticed the siding is different than anything we have seen before.. seems like asphalt, but might be covering something else.

Since you're already in Naperville, I assume you'll be able to find the time to get around meet local RE folks and pound the pavement to find deals.That said, from my own perspective IL/Chicago have some serious challenges over the next RE cycle (or two) that in my opinion make it imperative to have well-defined exit strategy before entering any new deal.

As of right now, I owe 190,000 on the house but zillow ( I know its just an estimation) has it estimated at 264k and that's not even including the additions I have added to the house i.e. fenced in back yard for privacy, 20'x20' stone patio in the back, and expanded the driveway from a single to a double parking spot replacing the asphalt with concrete.

The roof I would classify as long term because in San Diego an asphalt roof lasts ~30 years.

You've got to hit the pavement to find the value, either through discussing with wholesalers or working off of aged MLS properties that might be ripe for a low-ball offer.

Unfortunately, though, gGas is only a fractional part of oil demand. 50% of a barrel of oil goes to manufacturing goods: Asphalt used in road construction is a petroleum product as is the synthetic rubber in the tires.
