In Dallas a high appreciating market, I want to build a 1400 sq ft 3/2/1 on my already developed lot, medium grade finishing carpet and tile mix, 80/20 brick and panel.

Whereas older housing stock can be more difficult to renovate - especially when it once was a large single family that has been spliced into apartments.If I was to build a Multi-Family property from the ground up, I could control the lay out of the units, where the housing systems were located and their path to and from the basement, I could construct panels to access shower fixtures etc.

I was thinking about getting something at Lowes and get a contract to do it, but I don't know what type of wood panel to get since this is my first rental.   

THEN had to pay the city to come out and reinspect whereby he noted the deck panels were not secured.

I doubt I have enough left on my house panel to allow for a 50 amp hookup. 

Hello everyone, I am closing on a 28 units building and half of the panels are old and rusted.

So far put exactly $30k into new roof, electrical panel, appliances, cabinet, carpentry, etc.

@Jason F my buddy is redoing the exterior of his place in plymouth ma in cedar. he got a quote and a catalog of cedar siding and i think the shingle panels from michigan prestain. it looks really good. good luck!

There are some alternatives such as solar power, but if you go that route you probably will still want to have a generator as a back up, and the cost for solar panels can also add up quickly.Another cost to think about is that of construction.
