Utilities are costly (my market likely has the most expensive water in the country and electricity costs that are in competition for highest in the country).  

Gabriel, I work and educate investors nationwide but I do have to say - CT is one of the most tightly-knit investing communities in the country.

My wife, Krys, and I moved to a developing country 3 decades ago to serve impoverished families. 

Huntsville ranked the best in this metric at only 14.1% of the median household income.However, the low property tax rate of just 0.41% of the median home value—the seventh lowest in the country—may seal the deal.

In Tampa, some great spots to consider are University area, Seminole Heights, Ybor, West Tampa, East Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Town 'n' Country—all solid for long-term rentals.

Obviously this is a huge concern, as a tenant could sue you as an individual for liability of the property, and in a country like this that could bankrupt you.

I would just be careful if you have the right to the land as well, becasue some countries in Asia only will allow you to own the actual property. 

I work with mostly out of state investors and many out of the country.
