Renters holding 40 person parties (HOA not pleased), renters who call about a light bulb out and demand someone fix it now or face a bad review, renters screwing up the TV connections - even a couple renting a home for a teenage party that resulted in a bloody bedroom.

A lot of people are indeed very rich.In reference to competition ... it only seems like everyone is flipping because you read about it every other day in the newspaper and there are half a dozen tv shows that make rehabbing a house look about as simple as building a deck at your house on the weekends.

I'm not accountant, and I don't pretend to be one on tv.. so hopefully others will chime in shortly, but I don't think you'd pay taxes on a draw from a HELOC used to pay a debt.

Just really competitive & dont believe TV or the gurus (funny how tv they dub in the rehab cost OR the arv OR they are always off on arv but market bails them out) I wish i bought my whole street back in 2010...oh well.

There was a TV sitcom that talked about the "casserole zone" with regards to in-laws: you want to be far enough away that the in-laws don't drop by on a whim, but close enough that a casserole is still warm in the car.Also vacation rentals are a PITA.
