A lot of the discussion for Airbnb seems to be focused on what its doing with cities that already have a high volume of rent by the night accommodations. 

Hopefully, they are more flexible and accommodating.

Conversion differences may come into play too... typically the first things that come to mind for me when considering a basement apartment conversion are:1) Headroom/ceiling height2) Meeting the egress requirements3) Is the sewer line low enough to accommodate a gravity system or will a sewage crock and pump be required?

You have to accommodate the parking requirements or the rest doesn't matter.
