The health department could put an onsite nurse at the site to help with the disabled and mentally ill. 

I was thinking about this for my STVR in Phx b/c there are a lot of 1-3 month traveling nurses, but I make more money with higher turnover, so I don't offer a large monthly discount and limit the house to under 30 day rentals. 

You wouldn't not rent to someone because they have a nurse so you shouldn't disqualify someone because they have a service animal.

You could also reach out to temp nursing agencies about renting short term to traveling nurses.I had an "in" with the law school at the university next to the building I managed, and ended up rarely having to advertise anywhere else.  

Both go to my school, one is in the same program as me (medicine) and the other is in nursing. 

So, they're gone a lot.You might also consider advertising to traveling nurses.

Then, they'll hit Craigslist for cheap furnishings.Personally, unless I was going to do AirBnB or short term rentals for traveling nurses, etc., I'd only offer unfurnished, so I didn't have to deal with storing stuff they didn't want.I don't know where your rentals are, but another thing to consider is if you can ask for a bigger deposit for furnished rentals - and if that's important to you.  

He was a nurse who was in a graduate program and had lived there for several years already, and was not planning on moving anytime soon.
