They are very general signs of an undesirable block, although 2 blocks over can be better.  

@Serj Kalfayan  -- Welcome to BiggerPockets.Yes, there are other reasons to be investing in better markets outside of Los Angeles (and most parts of coastal California).Aside from the overpriced (i.e. inflated) property prices, you will have low and undesirable rates of return. 

I'm hearing that the areas that the properties are in so far are undesirable.

The flood zone and insurance is always the thing that makes it undesirable.

While large numbers of tenants are undesirable I would be inclined set that issue aside along with the pet issue.

I get great tenants.If in your market they are considered undesirable by tenants then maybe the calculus is different.

There are a lot of undesirable areas you want to avoid in any city/town.There are areas closer to you that would also be good.

Since I am not familiar with the different neighborhoods, I am trying to get more info as to whether an area is in demand by tenants or undesirable because of criminal activity or in a run down part of town.
