Not true at all.If you want to successfully run an STR you need to be on both AirBnB and VRBO at the very least, PLUS run direct bookings.

I don't beleive this is true based on the IRS site stating you don't have to issue a 1099 if you are "not engaged in a trade or business."

I've underwritten hundreds of deals, submitted tens of LOIs and not had a single one accepted- The BRRRRs I did do weren't true BRRRRs because of low appraisals, or not accounting for all costs properly and I ended up leaving around $10k for each one in the deal.

JD, I'd agree about cat pee.....it has something in it that will make you see Jesus, even with a respirator....But that house that had 9 dogs locked inside of it had this beautiful wide-plank flooring, Ponderosa Pine...unbelievably gorgrous.....I had it sanded once and got about 50% of the smell, twice, maybe 75 %....third time got 95%.Primer/paint did little.....finally had to have the walls and ceilings skim coated with new texture...throughout the entire almost 3000 SF house.
