Im in college so I meet new people everyday and that alone is a huge resource.

But what it comes down to is creating relationships and conversing with new people.

Great insurance agent, great realtor, great lender, great attorney, great title people great trades and others.A great realtor can save you time, money, frustrations, headaches, and keep you out of a lot of trouble. 

I am interested in meeting people from whom I can learn more about real estate investing. 

I know people who do this and I do not believe there are issues with it, but speak to an attorney and they should probably notify the company if they are an employee of that company that they are doing this.

I hear what Zeona is saying, but it may be irrelevant if say you are in the North San Fernando Valley where people from the Palisades aren't going.

They probably actually have less debt than most other people, so it is easier for them to make rent payments.The vast majority of bankruptcies are medically related.They have been "through the system" and they don't want to go through that again.

One thing to remember when you are getting into RE investing is to have your team of people or as Brandon Turner from the Bigger Pockets Podcast calls it your CORE 41.
