I had a tenant complain that the appliances didn't work.They went out and bought new stainless steel appliances (and tried to get me to buy them, when that failed, they wanted me to buy them from them).Turns out the old dishwasher worked just fine, but they connected it backwards.The washer/dryer also worked fine, but they didn't connect the hoses.There was a ceiling issue.

Is there any reason people are still paying more for the laundry centers where if one unit fails you have to pay hundreds or have to replace the entire washer/dryer combo?

I know you don't want to spend another dime on the property, but including refrigerator, washer, dryer could go a long way.
