Big, big blow up on a car ride yesterday thru Marin county in NORCAL...it was a saturday that should have included some recreation but we were once again chasing deals..that's when one of us ( we are two people who've been partners for 29 years) said " LETS GET OFF THE HAMPSTER WHEEL AND ENJOY THE LAST GOOD 25 YEARS WE HAVE LEFT ON THIS EARTH"..one of us is 60 the other 55...both of us were financially devastated from divorces and the market crash so we've made and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars over our REI years...BUT!!

During budget time, both associations or the master would estimate that cost and then each of the subs would budget for that either in an itemized fashion or as one line item such as "master association fee".

Unless they're in an extreme cash flow crunch and are relying on the prepays as a stopgap (or don't intend to pay the taxes in a timely fashion), I can't see what this nets them.Anyone have insight into what might be motivating their unwillingness to work with us on this seemingly innocuous aspect of our relationship?

The problem is that this site is filled with ALOT of new investors trying to learn the business and not lose their shorts and when seasoned investors describe their deals in that fashion it not only gives misinformation and a false reality of how a deal works, but could also potentially drive a young investor who is anxious to buy their first deal into a losing situation.
