I do it to build relationships with investors and developers, and I am fortunate that my firm carries me when I have a lot of residential transactions going, as do my commercial transactions or larger developments, but in residential attorneys' defense... the only way to make ends meet doing residential real estate for a lawyer is high volume, and that means you can't take 20 calls or emails from every client.
