Even if the tool is junk and the blades are the same crap quality as H-F blades, it's worth it, I've destroyed so many $15 blades on nails!

Get a sanding stone to keep the blade sharp.

Exterior has <10 year old roof and decks, and is a brick exterior.

The new structure will be close enough to an attached deck, that we will have to sprinkle the attached deck (has contiguous roofing), but not the rest of the existing structure. 

Looks like 2 x 6 joists with a double 2 x 6 rim board/ beam on the outside with 4 x 4 posts on an angle for support  by each door. couple of the joists looked like they are double but also noticed a small block nailed onto the end of one of them. check the joists for signs of rot/ damage. if there is none then i would sister the joists with a treated 2 x 6, bolting them together, replace the decking with a 2 x 6 decking screwed down, sister a new 2 x 6 on the outside beam, so you will be tripling it, and then add 6 x 6 treated posts down to footings below at least every 10 feet.
