You still want to market publicly because there are many other people that rent month-to-month: people house shopping, corporate hires on temporary assignment, people between houses, people new to the area and not sure if they want to plant roots, etc.If you just market to traveling nurses, you'll miss out on a large segment of the renting population.

At first, our landlord seemed pretty hands-on: stopping by to see how we were doing, checking the plants to make sure the sprinklers worked, etc.
