The government massively over-stimulated the economy (and passed other inflationary policies), driving record inflation. 

"Even if you only spend 15-20 min googleing and compiling some of the data, it shows self motivation and may demonstrate that you know enough of the basic key concepts and variables that an investor should be concerned with, so in turn you stimulate the pros and master level posters to want to add real in depth value, that is deeper or more insightful than what can be determined from a 15 min google search.

When Obama won the Presidency, he instructed the Fed to loan at Zero Interest, billions of Dollars to Hedge Funds who came to the worst hit States and Buy up tens of thousands of properties in Foreclosure and Rent them to Stimulate the Economy.

Plus it's fun, and gives me something challenging and intellectually stimulating to do.  

Sadly enough the rebuild will stimulate the AB economy but the loses are still overwhelming.
