I am assuming you crush on Coachella festival every April, just not the first place I think of when wanting to plan a Cali trip.

Other considerations: weddings, medical, local construction projects with out of town contractors, festivals and events (concerts), families in town to visit families during holidays, etc.  

Over the years I have been tempted to purchase one of those beautiful Victorian ladies (every time I am in town for the festival, in fact) but the character of the outer neighborhood has given me pause. 

One I believe it was Datsun ( that's what Nissans were called in the early days for you younger folks out there) they were the first auto manufacotrer to offer 0% financing.. which of course as we know has been copied for years and years since the mid to early 80s.Second was I had Saudi clients from San Francisco that because of religious reasons could not pay interest So since we owned all the properties we sold.. ( my dad was in the land business big time 300 to 500 sales a year)WE came up with our own 0% financing and just flat killed it.. 

Since there are 3 partners involved we track our hours religiously to figure out how to divide income up.

I have read many mindset books including "Rich Dad Poor Dad", I listen to the BP podcast almost religiously, and I go to investor meetups on the regular.

Both the LV shooting and the one at the Gilroy Garlic festival......armed guards all over the place...... but lets not get into the politics of gun control etcBottom line is its going to be a very hard policy to enforce and such a polarizing issue, its not worth fighting it in your small circle.

The driveway goes through an old abandoned church property that is a tax exempt religious property listed under holiness church trustees.

The people I know that are killing it also host meetups and attend most of the meetings in my area religiously.
