I use satin because higher gloss paints make imperfections in the wall surface stand out, but flat paints look cheap.Behr white high gloss enamel on all the trim.

Small imperfections such as scratches and dents on stainless can be an issue.

Can you cover up an old texture and imperfections with just re-texturizing?

Imperfections in the line tend to catch solids and cause a clogg very quickly.

You can inpsect the entire roll of carpet while you are there to look for any imperfections.
