Oregon's New Rent Control Law signed today by Oregon Governor.  

According to the article I read on an apartment owners association website it's the governor's emergency Heat Wave declaration that affects all 58 counties and enacts PC 396, for 30 days, unless/until extended.  

Are you comfortable with a governor who allowed extensive rigging of state-funded contracts to happen under his watch?

The base document is the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act of 2019 which changed nearly every aspect of this business in the tenants' favor, and then our king governor has written no less than 397 executive orders (literally dozens since COVID) to further drive the small landlord out of business in NY. 

The state and governor just enacted the nations first statewide rent control. 

Governor Abbott addressed the tax issue in his annual speech.

Oregon has had 30 years of Democratic governors and has a Democratic super majority in both houses.  

I realize the new governor ran on supporting rent control but that doesn't mean it is a priority over other pressing problems for him.

House Bill 1749 passed unopposed in the House and Senate and was signed by the Governor on April 22nd.Brief Summary of Bill:Provides that a property owner who improves and offers to sell property without occupying it for more than one year is not required to register as a contractor if the owner contracts with a general contractor.The new modified law goes into effect July 24th.
