This allows you to purchase using 5% down, low MI, and buying another multifamily property with low downpayment. 

I'm about 60 Mi North of Miami, so if I buy up in that area, there's no real practical way for me to manage the property myself.

How is the wholesale business in Mid Michigan?

After my associates degree in finance, I am considering getting my real estate license, but don't know if getting it in Michigan (my hometown) would be worth it?

For those of you who own small apartment buildings (8-24 units) in Oakland County, MI, how much are you paying your property managers each month (e.g, x% of collected rent, etc.)? 

I am also from Michigan ”bellevile” and was interested in the southeast area as well.

I am brand new to the investing world, my husband and I are looking for a vacation home on a lake in Michigan, Appx 2hrs from Chicago.

If you plan to live there 3-5 years I would advise to use FHA to purchase and do not pay out the 3.5% MI; MI on this purchase amount is about $400 monthly and the MI pay out (per your 3.5% calc) is close to $18k up front.
