How soon after making the first offer do you think is appropriate (or most strategic) to make an additional offer?

(Most interested in hearing responses to this question) Was it by accident or did you have a strategic approach?

So it's really a financial and strategic decision of do I want basically a trophy asset that I know will likely forever be ok and stable versus do I try to buy some extra units in surrounding areas.

They won't care if an account is off by $3- they will want to strategize, look big picture, know tax law in depth, and their biggest concern should be the your taxable income, treatments, and filings. 

But I need to focus on my day job and strategize more real estate transactions.

If there is already a complaint or long history, those situations you'd want to be more careful and strategic about your inquiry.
