It is a lower demographic (cheaper houses) than the other top 5 choices.

You will have the same amount of problems with vouchers as without. these are stigmas i think that change by area and you have to be there to know the demographic. the biggest mistake i think people make is not knowing the water situation and how expensive water bills are in akron.  

This is why I am no longer buying rentals in Portland, but as others have stated the dumb money is still driving up investments here while the smart money is looking outside Portland as an increasing population will drive up previously under appreciated outlying areas as a matter of simple demographics.

This demographic, young people who don't want to purchase, is large and growing - especially in Cleveland where the growth is coming from young hipsters like me moving out here. :)Of course you're right that many other renters are families who can't (or think they can't) purchase their own homes.Have you visited Cleveland?

I have been learning alot about real estate and I recently came across the importance of demographics. 

The further south and east you go, overall the demographics get weaker.Would I buy a property in a market like Columbus?
