In addition, I have a full-time employee who is well-paid and can pick up most of the other 40-50 hours a week that I would otherwise be allocating to the business; of course, this ultimately impacts our bottom line having to pay salary and benefits.So, while I only spend 10-15 hours, it took a lot of work to get to that point and I'm giving up some profit by having a full-time employee...For me, this was a worthwhile tradeoff, as I have a couple other ventures that I spend some time on, and I just started a family that I like to devote some time to.

If you don't think the 6 is enough (but considering your RE experience elsewhere in comparison makes your opinion worthwhile I think), it probably isn't too far a stretch to assume a seasoned professional wouldnt be happy with that spread either.

@Scott Trench, the idea of making student loan debt subject to bankruptcy HAS been raised in the political sphere many times in the past (generally on the Left), but it has exactly the problem you describe: Nobody would issue student loans anymore.Even if the student was studying something worthwhile, there would be little reason not to file for bankruptcy the day after graduation.
