Curious the groups thoughts 4 years later and the following scenario.A $51k loan at 8.125% with stock holdings that might be volatile next fewer years (big tech & big oil).

However if you have no credit history in the US, be prepared to put at least 30-35% down at a higher rate. 

Here are some thoughts on your choices:401k Loan: This can be a good option since you're borrowing from yourself, but it comes with repayment risk, especially if you leave your job.
