The solution for my rental was remove the transition strip between the two and cut the floor back about 1/4"-1/2" and reinstall the transition.

In general tenants are responsible for leaving the property in the same condition as it was on move in.... except wear and tear items....... so they need to replace the shed they removed....... get an estimate to do that......If a tenant removes a mirror.....a cabinet.......a toilet...... and replaces with their own item..... then they are responsible to re-install the original item or an equivalent.....

Hey, did you know there used to be companies that you could pull a full room of carpet out, deliver it to the company, and they would wash, dry and fluff it so you could re-install over new padding?
