@Tom Matousek the numbers in NC will probably be better than what you'll see up here in 9.99 out of 10 cases, other considerations for investing in this area are the laws governing rentals (NJ is bad but NYC might be the worst in the country) Age of property (our buildings and homes are traditionally a lot older than yours which could equal more cost for you as the owner) cost of labor and materials (yup, were more expensive here too) Acquisition cost (which could easily be 4x what you'd pay for a comparable building in your neck of the woods.

Painting ceilings is the worst type of painting in my opinion.It is the slowest because of the distance your roller has to travel from the ceiling to the tray on the floor each pass, you get paint drips not overspray dust on your face and your neck kills after about 30 minutes.

In fact. the heading bellow the image states, "Gravity Furnaces Were Installed Starting in the Early 1900's".You will never ever know as much about asbestos as I do since I've been in the business for asbestos for about 30 years and we have so many government regulations and so many government inspectors breathing down our neck when we work on any asbestos abatement job because every mistake we make can result in horrendous fines and multi-million dollar employee and customer lawsuits.Did you ask if I am overstating health issues about asbestos?

In my neck of the woods it's our local United Way that is handling the funding for the Rent Assistance Program.To answer your  questions on how easy it is to get rent rates increased through an organization like United Way I'd suggest contacting them directly to ask this question.If they can't/won't increase the amount what would you plan to do about this?
