There is still a casino on every corner and now with Medical Marijuana there is a "caregiver" on every corner.

It doesn't do you much good to have a tenant with enough income who pays the rent on time and does $15,000 in damage to your unit (yes, it is possible to do that much damage) .Also, I do not want that "sufficient income" to come from the sale proceeds of a marijuana grow operation or a meth lab.

I'm putting the quotes around service dog because the tenant wasn't blind, he had emotional problems or some other nonsense.I'm just wondering if medical marijuana users would be able to claim the same horsebleep?

I personally think alcohol is more destructive than marijuana.

If it makes you cringe to see people aspiring to learn and open or simply fund through seed money businesses that will promote healthy eating as opposed to leasing out the store to legal marijuana tenants under the guise of selling herbs to the community then you simply have to ignore such posts.

Illinois is a medical marijuana state but we do not have dispensaries yet.  

I live in a state that legalized marijuana, but can and do have a no-smoking policy for all of our properties that does not allow smoking of any kind on the premises (in or outside of the unit).

Coupled with the influx from the medical marijuana legalization and legislation that's stopping builders from building affordable condos for easy accessibility to first time home buyers.New home builders are releasing lots and building as fast as they can, but the availability of skilled craftsmen and materials is pushing building timelines 7-10 months out.

I have just read today in the newspaper that there was a drug raid on a house in the same neighborhood (2 blocks away) from a duplex I own. 66 marijuana plants and more than a kilogram of cocaine and crack.When I bought this place I checked with police reports regarding the neighborhood and it was not a high crime area, but "on the other side of the railroad tracks" 1/2 mile away is a high crime area.Up until this point I have bought in middle and upper middle class neighborhoods, so this is bit shocking to me.I want to be able to tell future tenants that it is a safe neighborhood, but now knowing this, I dunno.I am kinda of freaking out a little bit.

So there is a reoccurring predicament coming up in one of the companies I work with - thought it might be wise to reach out here -I work with brokers who sale commercial real estate (many times along with all the plants, products, and licenses) for marijuana.
