A lot of times I have checked Habitat or Craigslist for people that have remodeled & gotten rid of good cabinets.

I think they help, but it was tricky to get the holes in the right places so that everything would line up.When I first closed on the house, I found a set of two knobs and a deadbolt, keyed alike, with a key, at the local Habitat ReStore for $20.
