You can often get better rates with a national lender, but the customer service is non-existent, communication probably sucks, they may ask for the same documents multiple times, etc.

Trump also has a history of scamming people (Trump University, his charity, all of the contractors he never paid, everyone who got the short end of the stick during his multiple bankruptcies, claiming $70k tax write off per year on his taxes to do his hair, his company was found guilty of fraud, etc.).

I think the short term effect on rents is virtually zero - illegal immigrants usually live multiple numbers to a home, rather than everyone having their own space like Americans - but longer term there may be some softness at the bottom levels of rentals. i would be more concerned about the lower economic job market than I would be about rental housing.

There are more complicated strategies to maximize larger listings that involve having like multiple listings for same property and do individual room rentals when it is slower and then for larger length stays, larger groups, and more desirable dates you'd book the whole space, but I think its easier to just do two separate.
