Based on what I saw when I was there it seems like a good area for what you want to do as most of the affordable homes in the Western suburbs are very old with really poor floor plans. 

Please send me a Western Union money order for the $4K difference right away as I need it to cover my moving expenses".A week or so later and that $28K check turns out to be fraudulent.

How about the Craigslist rental property scams, where the scammer from some remote location takes the photos from some other ad or property and creates an ad with an offered price way below market but requiring funds to be sent via Western Union?

I invest and work in the Chicago western suburbs, so I am not surprised to see how hard Chicago was hit.

I too, as everyone else stated, am very interested and desiring a meetup in the western burbs.

@Bradley Shive NASB and First Western seem to be the most widely used, so I started with them.

But there are some really interesting up and coming neighborhoods on the west side/ western suburbs that would be perfect for flips and rentals!

We are very active in commercial brokerage in Western WA and I would be happy to take some time to hop on the phone to discuss your requirement and what we might have that fits. 

On the other hand if you’ve made it all the way to Ferndale then I’d expand my search to southwest Oakland county South East  Macomb County and Western/ Southern Wayne county.
