I consider myself a newborn (or just a fetus) when it comes to RE.. what are other experiences/advices here?

There was no distribution of assets, no child support or visitation issues addressed we handle it on our own.

. - include recent (last 2-3 months) statements for each.If you have any court ordered payments -such as child support or restitution - bring a copy of the order and recent receipts;If the property you are purchasing is a residential rental property (1 - 4 units), bring copies of leases - or Estoppels - for all presently rented units.  

@Julia Amelyan I believe the only people that can take someone's tax refund are gov't agencies and child support.

But parent and child together on the deed will not receive an exemption.You should speak with an accountant or an estate planner to make sure you handle everything in the best way to benefits everyone.In your situation, if you pay the mortgage yourself, you would be able to write off the interest and the taxes.

I know,, I ran several properties with a outdoor pool,one indoor, thankfully no injuries on my watch,, but we had a child drown at a property owned by same company.. they sued... anyone in that situation would. 

New code requires the windows to be much larger and generally no more than 36" off the floor so even a child could escape them.Designs vary greatly but here's an idea of what they look like:Some egress windows are completely below ground while others may only be part-way below ground level.

It took me 5 years after school, a wife and child to decide it was time to buy a house.I grew up in the "ghetto" although I don't refer to it that way, so it'll be pretty hard to scare me out of a potential good deal based on neighborhoods.

If you know that going into the deal, and anything goes wrong and somebody's child gets injured, you're going to be named in a lawsuit and/or be on the evening news.In my opinion, it's not at all worth it for 400 bucks a month.
