In it he argues that if you can fix something major like a roof prior to getting a house appraised as part of a refi you’ll recoup part of that investment with the additional value you’ll be able to pull out after getting it done.My roof needs to be redone and I’m torn on if it’s worth it to liquidate some stock to get it done prior to getting the house appraised to generate funding through a HELOC or cash out refi that would be put into another investment.

@Mary CiccarelliThere are two ways for multiple owners to own a piece of property together1) Through an entity(LLC, LP, Corporation)2) Tenants in Common(aka TIC)You should have a conversation with an attorney to explain what might be the best approach.Considered a house-hack is a combination of a personal property and a business property, you can argue that an entity is not the right way to go since entities hold business assets and a house-hack is not 100% business property.
