The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred with sweat and dust and blood who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotions and spends himself in a worthy cause; who, if he wins, knows the triumph of high achievement; and who, if he fails at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timed souls who know neither victory nor defeat. 

How much sweat equity can you and your partner put in?

I have nothing other than sweat equity to stand as collateral for the property so financially I would have very little exposure. 

Basically this is all the sweat equity we put into the deal to "entitle" property.You may not have these skills but there are a lot of hungry planners and engineers who may work with you on an upfront cover my cost contract, with some equity or backend premium. 

@Norman Bauer @Dawn AnastasiI would buy 2 or 3 houses in Detroit and sell them as sweat equity for 1k down and 200 a month each.. there was some old dude in the Carolinas doing this I saw him on TV once.

It requires so much more energy, creativity, sweat, and sheer determination to strike out on the less-traveled path and stick with it despite the many, many challenges and setbacks. 

Again, just imagine I have absolutely nothing but time, sweat, and a high level of motivation.

Working contractor (As Cole said) - Has worked in the trades for years swinging a hammer and putting in the hard work and sweat learning his trade as a carpenter, plumber, mason ect.

In my opinion if you use the flip formula and are able to negotiate to your asking price and have some sweat equity, you will make a good profit. 

I learned a lot on this project built quite a bit of sweat equity.
