My place would not be a destination for families who want to pool their resources for a larger place where they can stay together.

My husband and I have been thinking about trying out short term rentals here in Luray, VA because it is a pretty popular vacation/wedding destination and there aren't many Airbnb's available in the actual town itself. 

Although I do love Destin, the majority of the work will most likely happen along the Treasure Coast.

Besides selling 2 properties, I posted a fix and flip SFH in Uptown on BP market place and ended up pulling it as prices just keep going up in the area and the spread keeps getting bigger so I seem destined to make this to my summer reno project and put it onto the market in July/Aug when hopefully the market continues to be super hot.

You can run some numbers by making a high level guess that the property should do about 10% gross annual rent of the property value (at least that's what they were telling me in Destin) so a $500,000 property would do about $50,000/year gross.

Hillsboro is definitely not a "destination" but I see that other people in the area have their homes listed on AirBnb.

With no previous experience in renting either of these property types at a beach destination, I wasn’t sure if one was more sought after than another.
