Just recently read an article where Puerto was listed #3 out of 30 Top home buying destinations in America. 

I add to that by saying even when that next bus comes, make sure it's going to your destination and don't just jump on it either. 

My wife and I are looking at potential properties on the coast in the Destin/Ft.

Since you have boots in Plano they should be able to give you some guidelines for neighborhoods - start cruising Zillow and see what rental and list prices are like.

Not only are we beyond the budget we set for ourselves but this is for properties are either in OK neighborhoods but will require further rehabbing or in areas that I feel would be hard to find good tenants.Our realtor only provides use listing from MLS, would we be better suited to find a different realtor, do directly to wholesalers, or just start cruising neighborhood on our own?

Also looking for any destination events people have attended and would recommend. 

Note that we are not suggesting tile here because the grout joints will be the weak points destine to fail again in the future.
